WHY JUICE CLEANSE
Juice cleanses are a great way to replace enzymes that are lost from stress, alcohol and processed foods. By drinking fresh fruits and vegetables the tired and abused body takes less work and time to get what it needs from the juice to replace those lost enzymes. We believe that our fresh cold pressed juices are quite simply liquid gold for the body and mind.
PRE CLEANSE
Preparing for a juice cleanse 3 days before you begin is ideal. It is possible that you’ll experience flu-like symptoms, headaches and digestive problems during your cleanse. However, if you prepare for a minimum of 3 days you can reduce the yuck feeling. We have a few simple things you can change so that you can quit the ‘bad’ habits while minimising the side effects of cleansing!
Avoid the Pre-cleanse binge
‘Well, because I will only be drinking juice in 3 days time, I may as well eat whatever I want now.’ this is a classic pre-cleanse move that always ends in catastrophe! You don’t want to double the workload for your body by eating poorly leading up to your juice cleanse. This is a time where you need to start being conscious and preparing your mind and your body for what is to come.
Caffeine
We suggest that you reduce your caffeine intake as much as possible. Green tea and herbal teas are a great alternative for coffee as long as they do not contain caffeine. Another great drink to have during the day is lemon in hot water with some ginger.
Foods
Keep it simple! Enjoy foods for their natural taste. Ditch the condiments, instead use herbs and spices if extra flavour is needed. We also suggest that you take out refined sugars, bread, pasta and white rice from your diet and to also reduce dairy and meat products during this stage.
Water
Drink plenty of fresh water before, during and after your cleanse! Drinking lots of water is going to help your body flush toxins from your system and also keep you hydrated after eliminations. Water is also a great way to keep the hunger at bay!
WHILE CLEANSING
Caffeine
We recommend that you abstain from caffeine while cleansing. If you can't get through the morning/day without a coffee, stick to black coffee with no sugar
Foods
It is recommended you do not eat solid foods while cleansing, we understand that the urge to chew can be overwhelming. If you do eat, make good choices by sticking to raw vegetables or a small handful of nuts
Water

POST CLEANSE
It is a good idea to follow the steps we suggested in the pre-cleanse stage once you have completed your juice cleanse. You definitely do not want to think of your post-cleanse period as the ‘make-up’ days. Not only will you mentally feel guilty about breaking the good you have done for your body, but also you will physically feel un-well; cramps, headaches and bloating. As a recommendation, soups, broths and steamed veges are great foods to have as you ease your way back into solids.
